The 2027 budget is set for the City of Springfield.
The City Council voted 10-3 last night in favor of a one-point-four-billion-dollar-budget proposal by Mayor Domenic Sarno.
The mayor said his proposal avoids layoffs and prioritizes funding for schools.
He added that the budget "reflects a clear, disciplined and sustainable approach to managing the city's finances and planning responsibly for the future."
