Brockton Native Is Overall Number One Pick In NBA Draft

The first round of the NBA draft is in the books.

The Wizards selected AJ Dybantsa with the first-overall pick.

The fearless forward became the only player in BYU history to go Number-1 in the draft.

Dybansta is a native of Brockton, Massachusetts. He says it is a dream come true.

He asked NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to announce is born - given name, Anicet - as a tribute to his father who was born in The Republic of Congo.

Meantime, the Boston Celtics are drafting Houston big man Chris Cenac Junior.

On Tuesday, Boston selected him with the 27th overall pick.

Cenac is a 19-year-old, six-foot-eleven-inch forward who averaged over nine points and eight rebounds for the Cougars last season.

He is viewed as a mobile and athletic big man with good defensive instincts and versatility.

Cenac's offensive game remains raw, but he has shown some potential as a shooter and is still only 19 years old.
