Scorching temperatures are in the forecast for Western Mass this week.
An Extreme Heat Watch is set to go into effect for most of the state on Wednesday, including Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin Counties.
The National Weather Service is warning of dangerously hot conditions with heat index values potentially reaching 110-degrees.
Officials say residents should drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and check in on relatives and neighbors.
In addition, officials say that we will also have to keep an eye on air quality.
It is expected to be low, providing more issues for some residents.
