A Holyoke man has been arrested- charged with Operating Under the Influence after allegedly driving under the influence; driving the wrong way on Interstate 91; then fleeing from police and striking a cruiser.
State Police say 28-year-old Jose Santiago was driving southerly in the northbound lanes of I-91 in Holyoke.
He was finally stopped, but not until after he struck the cruiser, and another civilian vehicle.
In all three people, including Santiago were taken to the hospital.
State Police Colonel Geoffrey Noble says that it is the third case of a wrong way driver striking a trooper since the loss of Trooper Kevin Trainor this past May.
Santiago meantime will be arraigned on a variety of charges later today,
