Steamship Authority Facing Financial Concerns

The Steamship Authority is facing a likely budget crunch.

At a board meeting officials warned revenue is flat or declining while expenses are increasing.

The Vineyard Gazette reported one suggestion made at the meeting is to place a monthly cap on the number of times Island residents can use the lower excursion fares.

Officials noted the number of the lower monthly excursion rate trips continues to climb.
