A.G. Helps Block Trump Admin. From Repeating AmeriCorps Cuts

Massachusetts and a coalition of states have reached a settlement aimed at protecting AmeriCorps programs from being dismantled without advance notice.

State Attorney General Andrea Campbell says the agreement preserves current funding through the end of fiscal year 2026.

“AmeriCorps members are part of the fabric of communities across Massachusetts, helping our schools, supporting public health, and connecting residents with critical services. This settlement helps ensure those opportunities remain available to people across the Commonwealth who want to serve their neighbors while gaining valuable work experience and leadership skills,” said AG Campbell. “As the Trump Administration tries to dismantle programs that Massachusetts communities rely on, I will continue to stand up to protect these opportunities.”

It also requires AmeriCorps to give states at least 30 days' written notice before making major changes.
