The FBI says Springfield Public Schools data was breached in this month's cyberattack.
Federal investigators have confirmed SPS data was exposed by a "sophisticated and experienced cybercriminal group" after officials initially believed the data was only being blocked.
The district said the exposed information could include staff social security numbers.
The investigation is ongoing.
There have been no arrests.
