A proposed settlement could put new limits on the combined Paramount and Warner Bros. company, after Massachusetts sued to challenge the merger.
State Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell says the agreement includes a five-year commitment to increase movie production, at least one-point-five-billion dollars in additional U.S. film spending, and a 47-point-five-million-dollar fund for workers.
The deal would also require the company to maintain a free streaming service and keep Paramount and Warner Bros. cable negotiations separate for five years.
The settlement still needs court approval.
Connecticut and ten other states are also part of the settlement.
