A former aide to Governor Maura Healey facing drug trafficking charges is now accused of defrauding SNAP.
Federal investigators say Lamar Cook falsely claimed he had less than 100-dollars in his bank account when applying for SNAP benefits in April when he actually had close to nine-thousand.
He also allegedly failed to disclose that he lived with his fiancee who makes over 80-thousand-dollars a year.
Cook was terminated as the Deputy Director of Governor Healey's Western Mass office in October 2025 following allegations of trafficking cocaine.
