Police say scammers are making calls and asking people to donate to a fund for murdered Yarmouth K-9 Officer Sean Gannon. Get the facts on this scam and links to the legitimate fundraiser.
Barnstable Police have received several calls stating they are raising money for the "Sean Gannon Fund." Police say, "This is a SCAM. The phone numbers used so far are: 508-418-0669, 508-418-0431, and 508-418-0979. There are NO ACTIVE PHONE SOLICITATIONS being conducted to raise money."
To contribute to the Officer Sean Gannon Memorial fund, click HERE. Be sure to check the box to designate the donation and select the memorial fund. The Yarmouth Police Foundation has also added a fund for the support of K9 Nero as he recovers from his wounds. Both funds are available for selection after you check the designation box.
