Western Mass Residents To Speak Out In Boston

A couple of items of interest connected to Springfield are set for hearings in Boston on Tuesday.

The state Legislature's Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development will consider legislation to ban future elephant acts after the death of Beulah the elephant, who was set to be a part of the Big E this year.

The Legislature's Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security will hear from a former Springfield resident about a bill to tighten safety measures on carnival and amusement rides after a family member was injured on a ride in Westford.
