Southend Residents Seek Change From Habit Opco

Concerns were raised on Monday night about the presence of a methadone clinic in a Springfield neighborhood.

Habit OPCO moved its clinic from the North End to the South End this summer; residents have complained about quality of life issues since then.

Clinic officials said at a South End Citizens' Council meeting last night that the move was prompted by the need for more space to serve patients, and they insisted they were transparent with the city about their plans to move into their current space at Mill Street and East Columbus Avenue.

More meetings are planned.
