Springfield resident and alleged regional leader of the Latin Kings street gang, Michael Cecchetelli, appeared in federal court on Wednesday.
Cecchetelli pleaded not guilty to racketeering conspiracy charges.
According to an affidavit filed in the case last week, Cecchetelli conspired with others to attempt to kill two Latin Kings members for allegedly disrespecting him.
The affidavit also says Cecchetelli allegedly targeted a state prisoner after he believed they stole money from the Latin Kings chapter in Lowell.
