A group of state lawmakers are calling on Governor Charlie Baker to make teachers a priority for the coronavirus vaccine. Baker has called for all schools to return to in school learning by April first. The 21 lawmakers have written to Baker, urging him to prioritize vaccinating teachers. The letter indicates that the lawmakers believe all teachers should receive vaccines before having to return to the classroom next month.
Meantime, President Biden has added some urgency to the call with a plea that states vaccinate all teachers and school personnell by the end of the month in an effort to get as many teachers and students back in the classroom.
The Mass Teachers Union pleased with that announcement and are calling on Governor to follow through immediately.
