Men Charged With Harvard Med School Explosion Released

The two men accused of detonating a commercial firework inside a Harvard Medical School building in Boston have been released from custody.

Twenty-year-old Dominick Cardoza of Bourne and Logan Patterson of Plymouth are facing federal charges.

The two men allegedly put a device described as a Roman candle in a fourth floor locker of the Goldenson Building early Saturday morning and ran away.

FBI Boston's Special Agent in Charge Ted E. Docks told reporters that the incident "was not a prank---it was a federal crime."

According to the charging documents, witnesses allegedly stated that Patterson and Cardoza were visiting Wentworth College for Halloween social activities

The men appeared in federal court yesterday and were released with orders to stay away from all Harvard buildings.
